Permits for Remediation

National Grid has obtained approvals from the following federal, state, and local agencies.  Click on the plus symbol next to each agency to see copies of the permits.

The Army Corps of Engineers Individual General Permit for the remediation project is attached.

National Grid submitted an Expanded Environmental Notification Form (EENF) describing the project in July 2013. On August 23, 2013, National Grid received a MEPA Certificate stating that no further MEPA review is required, that National Grid should hold pre-permitting meetings with the MassDEP and that the project may proceed to State permitting. EENF Application
Between 2012 and 2015, National Grid has filed an MCP Phase II Comprehensive Site Assessment Report, Phase III Remedial Action Plan, and Phase IV Remedy Implementation Plan to comply with the MassDEP cleanup and reporting requirements. Copies of these reports can be found on the Major Reports page of this website.
The Memorandum of Agreement between the MHC, MBUAR and Army Corps of Engineers is attached.  Also attached are permits received from the MHC and MBUAR.

Attached are Orders of Conditions #28-2369 and #28-2371 issued by the City of Gloucester Conservation Commission for this project.

A 10A Temporary Float Permit for a temporary breakwater near the USCG property was authorized by the City of Gloucester Harbormaster, and is attached below.
